This area includes Bank of America Stadium, home of the NFL Carolina Panthers, and Gateway Village which is the new home to Johnson and Wales University (JWU).
Enrollment at the JWU campus is expected to exceed 5,000 students by the fall of 2007.When complete, 1st Row will feature 84 residents tucked into its 3rd Ward neighborhood near single family houses, town homes, condos, and warehouses, some of which are adaptive - reused buildings. 1st Row will be directly adjacent to Frazier Park and the Mecklenburg County Greenway System with prime views of the stadium and the Uptown Skyline. It is just a short walk from the Gateway Village and JWU. In addition, Mecklenburg County is planning a "Central Park" for Uptown Charlotte in 3rd Ward near the football stadium, and possibly a new professional baseball park. 1st Row will become the anchor for 3rd Ward's "Warehouse District." The building will have a warehouse style facade with 75 two-bedroom flats, 6 two-bedroom town homes, and 3 three story live/work town homes.Back to New Construction
